Eight Battlefields from three different wars are within easy reach of the Lodge, as well as The Talana Museum - one of the best in the country and to top it off the site which marks the end of the Bonaparte Dynasty.
Walk... on our 1000 acre estate. Climb up Sinqindi hill and take in a bird's eye view of the battlefields stretched out below.
Hiking... trails in the footsteps of advancing soldiers and fugitives running from certain death
Birding... the Biggarsberg escarpment is host to at least 270 species. See most of them in our gardens.
Fauna and flora... spot a rhebuck, kudu or a duiker. Or simply enjoy the natural topography of many different biospheres.
San Rock Art Painting ....the rock art custodian at Rorke's Drift can take you on a short walk to see one of the oldest examples of Rock Art Painting in South Africa.
Star Gazing.....benefit from our remote location, absolutely no light pollution - on clear nights you can see the Milky Way in all its glory and spot the Southern Cross with ease.
